3 Big New Google Photos Features

Google Photos is receiving some tender love and care as announced at Google I/O 2017, with three amazing new features headed our way. Let’s jump right into what’s coming!
Suggested Sharing

Suggested Sharing will make it easier for you to share photos with relevant people after a big event or outing. It uses machine learning tech to identify those who are in the photo and automatically groups them to be shared with those people with a click of a button.
Once you send those photos, the person on the other end can not only view them, but also see their automatic sharing suggestions and ask if you want to send the ones you took back over to that person and the other people in the photos.
Google says this’ll even work for contacts who don’t have a Google Photos account, with the recipients receiving a link via SMS or email to check all of the snaps out for themselves.
Shared Libraries

Sticking with the sharing front, Shared Libraries makes it easy to share specific groups or sets of pictures with people. For instance, you could share all the photos you’ve taken from the day you met your fiancee and onward with, well, your fiancee. Cool beans.
Photo Books

Lastly, Google announced Photo Books, which allows you to select a collection of photos and have them made into an actual photo book. You can select all of the photos to make the book with by hand, but Google will also use their machine learning techniques to automatically suggest photo books for you to buy. And yes, you do have to buy them, but at a cool $9.99 each it doesn’t sound like a bad gift for those who want to materialize their memories.

Coming Soon
These features aren’t quite ready yet, but Google promises they’ll arrive in the coming weeks, with Photo Books launching in the coming months. Will this make Google Photos your go-to photo storage spot?
